This page welcomes you to the Department of Geography and Planning Sciences in the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in Ondo State, Nigeria.The Department of Geography and Planning Sciences was a pioneer Department when the University started in 1982.
The Department runs a four-year academic programme leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Geography and Planning Sciences. Today, there are over three hundred students in the Department, taught by thirteen academic staff assisted by four administrative staff.
Most of the graduates produced in the Department have already carved niches for themselves in various facets of human endeavour.The Department also runs a postgraduate programme.The Department is posed to train graduates who would be able to contribute meaningfully to planning, exploitation and management of environment cum economics resources. We trained for proper intellectual development of minds in the pursuit of physical and socio-economic development.
