Geography and Planning Sciences Admission Requirements


Four-Year Degree Programme
Candidates seeking admission into the Department of Geography and Planning Sciences must possess five credits, including: Geography, English Language, Mathematics and two other social science or science subjects at the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE/OL) or its equivalent and not more than two sittings. In addition, candidates must pass Geography, English Language, Mathematics and one other science or social science subjects in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Three-Year Degree Programme
Candidates for the three year programme must possess at least five credit passes in the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE/OL) or its equivalent in Geography, English Language, Mathematics and two other social science or science subjects. Apart from this, the candidate must pass Geography and one other Social Science or science subject at advanced level (GCE/AL). Furthermore, candidates with National Diploma (ND) in related courses like Town Planning, Surveying, Environmental Management, Estate Management may be considered provided they have graduated with ND at (Upper Credit) level and National Certificate of Education (NCE: Credit level) in Geography/Geography combined with other subjects that are required to fit for pre-admission screening. In addition, candidates must pass Geography, English Language, Mathematics and one other social science or science subjects in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
