Philosophy Admission Requirements
In addition to the basic University and Faculty of Arts requirements, a candidate for admission into the four-year B.A. degree programme in Philosophy must have passed at credit level in any FIVE (5) subjects in GCE (O/L), SSCE, NECO or their equivalents. The five subjects must include English Language and at least ONE Arts subject. In addition, the candidate must have scored at least P8 or D8 in Mathematics in GCE (O/L), SSCE, NECO or their equivalents. UTME subjects: English, one Arts subject, and any two other subjects.
For Direct Entry or the three-year degree programme, a candidate must hold an acceptable Diploma such as in Law, Religious studies, or Philosophy from this or any other institution approved by the University. A candidate with GCE (A/Level), the NCE or other equivalent qualifications may also be considered for Direct Entry admission.
To graduate, students enrolled for the four-year degree programme must pass all prescribed courses and have a minimum of 124 credit units, while those admitted for the three-year degree programme must similarly pass all prescribed courses and have minimum of 94 credit units.
